TCEA 2009
February 3, 2009 | Tagged TCEA 2009, Technology Applications | 1 Comment
Today I arrived at the TCEA 2009 Conference in Austin, Texas. For those of you who are not familiar with TCEA it is the Texas Computer Education Association. I know that there are very few teachers from the school district I work with that are familiar with both TCEA and the conference. I believe only 2 teachers from my district are attending the conference; at least those are the only 2 (Mrs. Perez from Hutchins ES and Mr. Hammen from Shepard MS) that informed me they were attending.
TCEA’s five-day convention is one of the largest educational technology conventions in the nation and the largest in Texas. The TCEA annual convention is recognized nationwide for its quality professional development opportunities, fun activities, and chances to meet and network with other education professionals.
It is my goal, through this newly created blog to inform them and anyone else who reads this blog about what the Texas Computer Education Association Conference is and all the activities that are provided at this conference such as speakers, free sessions, paid workshops, and the vendor floor. Although I do not have access to any paid workshops that are provided, I will be sure to blog about all the FREE sessions available throughout the week as well as inform them about the Technology Applications Teacher Network.
Although I have blogged on a personal level and at the classroom level with my students being my only audience, this is really my first time blogging at what I would consider a professional level. I hope you all find the information that I post on this blog informational, educational and entertaining to some extent. Feel free to email me or post comments, suggestions or questions, etc.
Wish me luck!

Paul,
hey while you are there, can you find out more information from Gaggle about their “Homework Folder”? thanks
Also, my students are asking for me to show and explain the differences between Message Boards, Wikis, and Blogs. Can you see if there are any booths there that can provide you with information on that level? Something that I can use in class to show the difference…I use a video but I need more concrete information than that.
Thanks, Lupe (Kazen MS)
